Africa Climate Summit 2 - Program Overview

Join us from 8–10 September 2025 in Addis Ababa. Below is the full schedule, sessions, and events planned.

Mandated Events

Mandated events are organized under the auspices of the Government of Ethiopia and the African Union Commission, supported by partner organizations that play a facilitation role and help broaden stakeholder engagement. These events are identified in the concept note and aligned with the summit’s theme, pillars, and building blocks. They feature high-level, ministerial, and technical convenings on key priority areas. Each mandated event is allocated 90 minutes.

Official Side Events

Official Side Events are convened and facilitated by applicant Member States, regional and international organizations, partners, and non-state actors. They complement the mandated program while reinforcing the theme, pillars, and building blocks set out in the concept note. These events provide a platform for high-level, ministerial, and technical convenings, fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaborative initiatives. Applicants will own and lead the entire session, taking responsibility for its design, organization, and delivery in line with summit guidance. Official Side Events may be allocated either 60 minutes or 90 minutes as requested.

Pavilions

Pavilions are dedicated spaces established and managed by Member States, regional and international organizations, partners, and non-state actors to showcase initiatives, innovations, and thought leadership aligned with the summit’s theme, pillars, and building blocks. They serve as platforms for exhibitions, dialogues, technical sessions, and interactive engagements, enabling participants to highlight best practices, share knowledge, and present solutions. Each pavilion is fully owned and managed by the applicant, who is responsible for its design, programming, and daily operations. Pavilions are allocated for the entire three days of the summit.

Exhibitions

Exhibitions are organized spaces where Member States, organizations, partners, and non-state actors present projects, innovations, and initiatives aligned with the summit’s theme, pillars, and building blocks. They provide a platform for visual displays, demonstrations, and interactive showcases that highlight achievements, share knowledge, and inspire collaboration. Each exhibitor will fully own and manage their exhibition space, including its design, content, and engagement activities. Exhibitions are allocated for one full day.
